Of all the medieval craftsmen, the goldsmith worked on the two most valuable materials-gold and silver-and set them with rare stones and classical gems. A fine goldsmith can work to a tolerance approaching that of precision machinery, using only his/her eyes and hand tools.
About
I first worked with metal while studying sculpture in Denver, Colorado and since then I have remained fascinated by the possibilities of working all types of metal. I trained with the Crafts Council of Ireland and then served my apprenticeship with JMK Goldsmiths in Kilkenny.
I use gold and precious metals and work them into finished pieces. All of my pieces are hand made in my workshop. I specialise in contemporary jewellery including wedding and engagement rings, pendants, earrings, cufflinks and brooches. I create original designs for my collection and also work to commission designing one off pieces for clients.
