Gold Jewellery

Taking proper care of your fine gold jewellery, which includes periodic cleanings, will ensure that it continues to be a point of pride throughout your lifetime and can become a very treasured and much loved heirloom.

Gold is lasting and durable and it will not tarnish, it can however lose its lustre over time if repeatedly exposed to dust, moisture, perspiration and makeup. To maintain this lustre clean your jewellery regularly. You can use a cleaning solution of sudsy, lukewarm water and after cleaning and rinsing, dry and polish jewellery with a soft cloth to avoid scratches. Alternatively bring it to your local jeweller and have it professionally cleaned.

White Gold jewellery is almost always electro plated with rhodium; rhodium is another precious metal from the platinum family that is used to make white gold whiter. This rhodium plating can wear off over time. It can, however, easily be replaced, simply bring to your jewellery and have it re plated if you notice a yellowing of the piece, this is simply the natural yellow gold coming through the plating.

Proper storage is as important as cleaning. Protect your gold jewellery by storing it safely in a jewellery box or keeping it wrapped in a soft cloth when not being worn. Furthermore, keeping pieces stored separately will prevent them from getting tangled or scratching one another.
